Controlling Simulation Runs

The SansGUI Run-Time Environment supports simulation run, pause and resume, single step, fast forward execution controls, which can be used by the developers for debugging purposes. The dynamic result viewing and charting facilities provide developers with visual cues to monitor a simulation run. The developer can also pause a simulation run programmatically so that he or she can examine the outcome before deciding on whether to continue execution or simply stop.

Debugging with Microsoft Visual Studio

SansGUI can be invoked from a simulator project workspace in Microsoft Visual Studio. The debugging facility works cooperatively with the SansGUI simulation control mechanism to provide the developers with the best program tracing, value examination, and error detection environment during simulator development.
