SansGUI manages a set of directories for organizing program and data files. These directories can be verified using the File Locations dialog accessed through About>File Locations... pull-down menu. Some of them are fixed after the installation of SansGUI and others can be modified by the user before SansGUI is invoked.
Main Installation (fixed): The SansGUI installation directory.
SansGUI Executable Files (fixed): SansGUI executable binaries, supporting programs, script files, and a portion of SansGUI on-line documentation (WinHelp, HTML Help, etc.).
SansGUI Documentation Files (customizable by defining SGUI_DOC): Another portion of SansGUI on-line documentation (in plain HTML and PDF formats).
Object Libraries (customizable by defining SGUI_LIB): The directory where SansGUI will look for Object Libraries.
Simulator Location (customizable by defining SGUI_SIM): The directory where SansGUI will look for simulators' executable programs and dynamic-linked libraries (DLLs).
Simulator Documentation Files (customizable by defining SGUI_DOC): The directory where SansGUI will look for simulators' on-line documentation.
License Key (customizable by defining SGUI_KEY): The directory where SansGUI will look for license keys.
The file locations may be modified by defining the associated environment variables. The Installation Procedures in the Getting Started guide contains the information for the SansGUI directory structure and details on how to change the environment variables in various Windows environments.
