Managing Common Objects
An object in SansGUI represents a group of system components with common properties or common data referred to by other objects, derived parts, or links. Sometimes, we would like to use similar objects in different Project Models. We may also want to prepare some objects with common properties filled in for future use. The common objects may include
Default Values: Rather than the defaults set by the simulation developer, you can put your own default values in the common objects for later use.
Frequently Used Values: In addition to default values, frequently used values can be entered into separate objects and stored for later use.
Special Values: Some values may require tedious data entry and some values may be hard to remember. You can use common objects to store these special values.
In this chapter, we discuss the use of Object Libraries to store commonly used objects with user prepared values. We also introduce some other means of importing sharable objects and classes into Object Libraries and Project Models and explain the SansGUI version evolution mechanism from the user's standpoint.
